An excellent addition to Canberra’s massive cafe scene. I rate it as Canberra’s best inner north cafe. Wait for coffee and food was a tad bit delayed because they were so busy, but staff were still friendly and polite. Food and coffee was well worth the short delay. Coffee was at a perfect temp and not bitter, my oat milk was frothed perfectly. Eggs benny were FANTASTIC. Good fresh well balanced hollandaise, house cured salmon was tasty, eggs were poached to perfection with really nice dark orange yolks. Thanks for an awesome brunch team! We’ll be back! ~ Andrew N

We ordered the blueberry bagel and roasted chicken bagel to share. Both exceeded my expectations! I think i could taste creamcheese in the Blueberry cream (I could be wrong). It's simply mind-blowing as I would normally prefer savoury bagel than sweet ones. The roasted chicken bagel is outstanding too! The bagel was lightly toasted so it is crispy on the outside and still spongy soft in the inside. I'm in love with these bagels. Highly recommended if you're a bagel lover. Will definitely visit again to try other food items on their menu. 😋 ~ Yih S

I’m not a big fan of sourdough, so a bagel or white toast is always my go-to order at a café. This time I ordered the smoked salmon bagel and an iced long black. Nicky’s bagel was beyond expectations; perfectly chewy with a crisp, golden and that fresh, just-baked aroma. The housemade smoked salmon was fantastic, rich and silky with just the right touch of smoke. They also have a really nice outdoor seating area, perfect for a relaxed brunch. I’ll definitely be back to try their blueberry bagel. ~ Fidela G

The food here is excellent. We ordered the fried chicken burger with hash brown and beef burger with chips. For the fried chicken burger, they used chicken thigh (yum!), which was crispy on the outside, juicy and tender on the inside. Coleslaw tasted homemade and could be a meal in itself - flavourful but not overpowering, with what tasted like fresh celery and dill. Milk bun was toasted and held the contents well. Hash browns were perfectly cooked. The beef burger patty was cooked and charred very well. There was a perfect ratio of meat, salad, cheese, and caramelised onions. Chips were crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, with sweet paprika seasoning. Can't fault Nickys on this but, if we were to suggest anything, it would be better soundproofing indoors and an additional heater in the outdoor seating area maybe - when we arrived, there was a loud group whose conversations carried to the other end of the cafe, so we relocated outside. The decor is otherwise simple, cosy, and aesthetically pleasing. ~ K P

I really love Nicky’s Cafe. The food is always so good and made with real care. You can taste the effort in every dish. I was honestly surprised when I found out they smoke the salmon themselves. it’s not salty at all and just really delicious. I always get an iced long black, and if you don’t like sour coffee, you can ask for low acidity beans they’ll happily use them for you. The chef is super friendly too, which makes the place feel cozy and welcoming. ~ 서유나

Coffee was great. We ordered the salmon and chicken bagel and both were amazing, chicken being the standout. I ordered a side of focaccia and it was honestly the best focaccia I have had in Canberra so far (above Three Mills Bakery and I think their focaccia is pretty good). Seems like the team have put thought and care into their small menu to make sure everything is a delight. A gem in Dickson. I also love that they are independent and not just another Ona style re run. Keep it up ~ Claudia B

So excited to go back to my childhood neighbourhoods in Canberra and discover, simple fresh food and coffee in cafes managed by enthusiastic young Canberrans. We were greeted by Bethany and Marnie who served us promptly and professionally. The avocado, home made focaccia and labneh melted in our mouths and was delicious! Absolutely love this place! A must go for anybody craving a good and filling breakfast. The burrito bowls and tacos are a great, filling portion, and they taste immaculate. And the açai bowls are also very nice and healthy. Service was also very quick and friendly. The cafe itself was nice and cozy; a nice place for a good conversation. ~ Jacob D

Such a pleasant experience at Nicky’s! I have been many times now and have been blown away by the food every time. From the cookies, to the focaccia, to blueberry bagel, and even the fantastic Red Brick coffee. The waiters are always so lovely. I love Nicky's, it's a great local cafe in Dickson with excellent food and vegan options. Their matcha lattes are also the best I've had in Canberra. Two meals and two mug coffees comes to about $55. Would recommend for a casual breakfast, brunch or lunch. ~ Jessica A

Delicious food at Nickys in Dickson. The french toast is so tasty and a big portion! Soft but crispy with ice cream and fresh blueberry compote. Definitely a favourite of the meals. Also recommend the smoked salmon bagel, it’s fresh but filling. We will be back to try the blueberry one! ~ Grace M

Loved this place! Got takeaway and even after a 25-minute drive, everything still tasted amazing! The bacon egg roll and ham cheese toast were so good! and the coffee was smooth and delicious. The staff were friendly and the cafe had such a bright, clean and cozy vibe. Definitely coming back! ~ JJ L

Came here a couple of times while in the area for a work trip. Food was really lovely and affordable. Not long to wait for our brekky both times. Inside is nice and outside seating is good but can be a bit chilly without the screen down or heaters. Would defs come here again, highly recommend ~ Crystal R

Really great setting and classic breakfast food. They have a relatively simple menu but they've been consistently good at the bacon and egg rolls and eggs benedict whenever we have gone. They offer a half-size option for their eggs benedict, which is perfect if you want a small breakfast! ~ R T

Had breakfast here this morning, the service was friendly & the food & drinks came out quickly. The bacon & egg rolls were soft, fresh & delicious. We both agreed they were up there with the best we have had. Only small fault was the chai was a bit weak but we will definitely be returning! ~ Skye S

Delightful little cafe. Came with my little dog who can be a bit annoying at cafes as he is always trying to get attention, but the staff were so nice and brought him water and a spare poached egg from the kitchen. The salmon plate was delicious! Really fresh and balanced. Good coffee too. ~ Ashlee B

Stopped in for some brekky. Apart from having a great name, terrific outdoor area was great with the kids and others had dogs out there. Food was delicious, coffee was good. Kids loved the babycinos (with a side of freckle instead of marshmallow was a nice tweak). ~ Nicholas S

Nickys is my go-to cafe in Dickson. With great food and plenty of vegetarian options, you can't beat it for a casual brunch or lunch. I recommend the rainbow bagel, it's packed full of vegetables and flavour! ~ Ella N

Are you kidding me. Best bacon and egg roll in Canberra. The photo doesn’t do it justice because the bun is so soft; the elasticity was non existent. Great coffee, great friendly service from a fella. I got the double filling in my roll. ~ Nick M

I've been to a lot of cafes with high google ratings, but I haven't found a better one in canberra yet. The staff is very friendly, and the food is served very quickly even with lots of customers. Their food and coffee are out of this world! ~ Toress F
